Simulation of Premixed Flames with FDS – Application to the Hot Smoke Testing System Izar
Juan Blond - Basler & Hofmann AG
Abstract
The use of premixed flames in hot smoke tests present valuable advantages in comparison with traditional methods. The definition and control of the necessary power, HRR, is a great challenge due to the lack of information about the plumes originated by premixed flames. This work presents a method to simulate the hot smoke testing system Izar in FDS and calculate the temperature field within the created plume.
